Dragon Forum 2022

"E-mobility and Value-added Enhancement Mechanisms for the National Industry"

13 - 15 September 2022
Borg Al-Arab AlJadida- Alexandria

Introduction

The transportation industry worldwide is witnessing significant development, in light of the shift from traditional internal combustion-engine transportation to E-mobility which requires a change in production lines, supply chains and transportation infrastructure, as well as a change in the legal frameworks governing them in proportion to the technical development required by the industry. Whereas the E-mobility industry represents a great opportunity for local industries to adapt to the requirements of this technology by increasing the proportion of its local component, it is also a major challenge due to the lack of infrastructure for the industry in many countries.

In addition, there is limited technical knowledge of the dimensions of the industry as well as global competition in this area, which requires further scientific research to develop the industry and enhance its technical efficiency in a way that contributes to activating its technological role. This includes being environmentally friendly in supporting national economies and achieving sustainable development goals. In light of the above, the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology, as one of the leading research universities in Egypt, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transportation (General Authority for Transportation Projects Planning) and the Academy of Scientific Research, decided that the subject of E-mobility should be the title of the Dragon Forum 2022.

The Goal of Dragon Forum 2022:

Dragon Forum is a platform for dialogue and constructive interaction among all those involved in the transportation industry, to discuss the subject of E-mobility in all its technical, economic, environmental, and regulatory aspects.

The Idea of Choosing a Logo and the Name of the Forum:

Dragons in Japanese culture symbolize balance, freedom, power and prosperity, a common heritage with Pharaonic culture in Egypt. Based on the values represented by this symbol, embodied in E-mobility, which represents a paradigm shift in the transportation industry, the newly born technology Dragon will restructure the transportation industry, swallow traditional transportation industry systems, and bring about a new era of transportation technology that seeks to achieve those values. The Dragon name and logo have been chosen to be the title of this forum after the forum's success in its first version under the same name and logo.

The Practical Importance of the Forum's Theme:

The idea of E-mobility reduces dependence on carbon dioxide-emitting fossil fuels and builds on energy supplied from new and renewable electricity sources that can be shipped through the electricity grid and by removing fossil carbon from transportation supply chains, thus creating a better future for the transportation industry at affordable prices for all. Egypt's recent projects in the field of E-mobility in all kinds in response to technical developments in the field of E-mobility may reflect the importance of this forum to discuss opportunities and challenges to this new industry.

Secondly: Transportation Technologies Exhibition

  • The exhibition will be attended by major international and local transportation industry bodies, institutions, and companies to showcase their latest technologies in this field, as well as universities, research centers, regulatory and finance agencies.
  • This exhibition is an opportunity to connect the industrial, research and government community to contribute to enhancing the technological services of industrial entities to meet the challenges in the E-mobility industry.

  • Thirdly: Camp Dragon
Click here for details and registration of Dragon camp
Egyptian and Arab university students in engineering and business management are participating in this camp to prepare them for a competition on introducing innovative ideas for E-mobility technologies, which contributes to the consolidation of entrepreneurship among youth and helps them turn their innovative ideas into practical projects, with financial awards for the top four of the teams participating in the competition.
  • Invited to Participate in the Forum:

    1. Universities and research centers in Egypt, Japan, and Arab countries.
